Recently the Woolaholics group began a knit-a-long for Thuja socks. These socks are knitted in an 8ply wool and are a very fast knit up. Seeing that my stash is loaded with 4ply sock wool and not 8ply, as well as having no LYS (Local Yarn Store) my options for obtaining some 8ply wool was limited.

Thankfully, the local supermarket had some Cleakheaton Country 8ply in a natural colour that i could dye. So choosing a couple of shades of green and primary yellow, I set to work. This time i had painted the wool and wrapped in clingwrap, fixing the dyes in the microwave.

Here is the result I am really happy with how the wool turned out.
